PRESIDENT’S LETTER

Dear Members,

Shortly after my father and namesake founded ClubCorp, he wrote a poem called “The Club.” In it, he described a club as a “haven of refuge and accord in a world torn by strife and discord … and is one of the noblest inventions of mankind.”

Clubs have evolved over the years from simply places to relax to communities that offer renewal for the mind, body, and spirit. Today, more than ever, the purpose of a club is to be an important force for good — through its ability to connect influential leaders, its role in enhancing individual personal and professional fulfillment, its capacity to deepen family ties, and its contributions to improving our communities.

That’s why, as we start the new year, there is some magic happening in our Business Clubs. Some of you already have experienced what I am about to describe. During the past few years, we have tried to partner with our Members to better understand the changing needs of your lifestyles. We have piloted changes in certain clubs and have refocused our energies to see our business through your eyes. The result has been a variety of new products, innovative services, and enhanced benefits. These club communities have strengthened — and this strength has translated into better value and greater pride in belonging. The more we have helped our Members succeed, the more you have helped us succeed.

We are now rolling out this effort across the ClubCorp Business Club network. The first phase of new offerings will address some of the ideas we’ve received from you. The focus is on time-saving changes that will make our clubs more convenient and help our Members connect better with other leaders. Among these products, services, and programs are videoconferencing capabilities, other technology-related improvements, and hospitality enhancements.  Some of these new products, services, and programs also will be introduced at our country clubs. You will be hearing more about these exciting developments from your home club.

Don’t hesitate to send me your comments and suggestions because we are committed to continuously improving our clubs to enrich your lives and improve the communities we serve.
