LET THE PROS EVALUATE YOUR GAME

It’s easy: Fill out and return this form.

Golf is perhaps just as rewarding as it is frustrating. The game offers new challenges every time the ball is teed and hit down the first fairway. Unfortunately, with the change of seasons, many golfers put their clubs in storage and dream of the day when the old slice and poor short game are replaced with straight drives, up-and-downs, and lower scores.

This year, while you wait on better weather, take a few minutes to evaluate your game. This questionnaire has become so popular with readers that we decided to offer it again. We also discovered that, for some, this game evaluation was a sobering task. Yet this step alone will be instrumental in helping you map out areas in your game that require attention during the coming season. Is your weak link your short game, or is it solely your putting? Are you as consistent off the tee as you should be? Are your approach shots to the green accurate? Are you a golfer who needs an overhaul or do you just need work in specific areas? In either case, knowing where your game currently stands and where improvement is needed for lower scores is a good place to start.

So, let’s get to it. Fill out the questionnaire on the following page and fax it to 910.235.8110. If you prefer, you can fill out a form on the Pinehurst Web site at www.pinehurst.com/game. Or mail to: Game Evaluation, c/o Private Clubs, 3030 LBJ Freeway, Suite 350, Dallas, TX 75234.

The Pinehurst Company Golf Institute instructional staff will evaluate your responses and, through return e-mail or mail, will help you determine where your game stands in relation to other golfers. Staff members also will help you see where you should focus your attention.
