CELEBRITY CHEFS TO COOK AT ASSOCIATE CLUBS
ClubCorp and the James Beard Foundation have teamed to bring celebrity
chefs into Associate Club kitchens to prepare a dinner and meet with
members. The celebrity chefs will spend time planning each menu, working
with the club’s executive chef to make the dinner, and then spend time with
members as they enjoy the meal. Proceeds from the dinners will benefit the
James Beard Foundation’s culinary arts education program. Celebrity chefs
will appear at the following clubs: City Club on Bunker Hill in Los
Angeles (July 31) with chef Michael Lomonaco, Columbia Tower Club in
Seattle (Sept. 17), Boston College Club (Oct. 1), Stonebriar
Country Club near Dallas (Oct. 8) with chef Jacques Leonardi, Center
Club in Costa Mesa,California (Oct. 16), University Club Houston
(Oct. 23) with chef Bruce Auden, Buckhead Club in Atlanta (Nov. 13),
and Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas (Feb. 5).
BUSINESS CENTERS GET WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY
Business Centers in many Associate Clubs have been upgraded to provide
wireless technology for members and guests. In addition to high-speed
connections, top-notch security has been installed to prevent hackers, and
the latest technology has been used to ensure that a wide range of wireless
configurations will be able to access the wireless network. For a list of

TENNIS WELCOME CENTERS
Sixty Associate Clubs have enrolled as U.S. Tennis Association/Tennis
Industry Association Tennis Welcome Centers. The "Learn to Play Tennis …
Fast" program is designed to change consumer perceptions about tennis and
welcome new players to the game through introductory programs taught by

HOMESTEAD SHOOTING CLUB
The newest addition to the facilities at The Homestead in Hot
Springs, Virginia, is the Shooting Club’s clubhouse. The new clubhouse
includes a mountaintop pavilion for parties, events, and group activities.
THE GOLF CHANNEL PLAYS PINEHURST
Play in the Viewer’s Cup Championships at Pinehurst in the
Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and get a behind-the-scenes look at
network sports television. This tournament is sponsored by The Golf Channel
and will allow golfers to visit with television hosts Kelly Tilghman and
Vince Cellini, play four rounds of golf on Pinehurst No. 2, No. 4, and No.
8, and participate in a live broadcast and troubleshooter clinic. The $2,500

FOURTH OF JULY EVENTS
Join in the fun of Independence Day by attending festivities at
Associate Clubs. Contact individual clubs for more information and to make
reservations. Here’s a look at some Fourth of July celebrations:
• Clubs of Kingwood at Atascocita, Deerwood, and Kingwood, near
Houston. The triumvirate of clubs, marking its 30th anniversary, will
celebrate "KingWoodstock" at the Kingwood location with a picnic, live
bands, carnival games, and fireworks.
• Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. A barbecue
cookout will be held with fireworks beginning at dusk.
• Ipswich Country Club near Boston. An 18-hole couples golf
tournament will be followed by a dinner.
• La Cima Club in Irving, Texas. The club’s location atop the
tallest building in the area provides spectacular views of the city’s
fireworks.
• Tower Club Tysons Corner in Vienna, Virginia. Members will enjoy
an All-American buffet dinner, complete with an ice cream sundae bar, as
well as a great view of fireworks.
• Woodside Plantation Country Club in Aiken, South Carolina. Pool
games, a watermelon race, and a pie eating contest start at 1 p.m., and a
grilling station with hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings will be open
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ATLANTA SOCIETY
Savor the flavor with the Atlanta Society’s Epicurean Club when members
visit celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s newest restaurant in Atlanta, on Aug.
12 at 8 p.m. The menu will consist of signature specialty dishes by chef de
cuisine Christian Czerwonka that will be paired with complementing summer
wines. Also, dinner attendees will be able to purchase personalized copies
of Emeril’s newest cookbook From Emeril’s Kitchen for $30 (must order
