My wife and I upgraded our membership to the Signature Gold level just prior to traveling to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the surrounding area for a week’s vacation. Our 29th wedding anniversary fell during our trip, and we made arrangements to dine at the First City Club in Savannah, Georgia.

The First City Club’s staff greeted us and was exceptionally cordial to us during our dining experience. While we arrived a bit early for our reservation, service director Casey McDonald personally escorted us to the bar area and made sure we were comfortable. Mr. McDonald and his professional staff seated us for dinner. The meal was excellent. The staff was professional in its service to our table.

The First City Club provided us a wonderful dining experience. Signature Gold and our first experience with an out-of-town club shall be bragged about to our fellow club friends.

We recently returned from 12 days in Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Before we left, our fantastic general manager, Steve Held, told us we should upgrade our Signature Gold Golf membership to Signature Gold Unlimited. Thanks, Steve!

As members with Signature Gold Unlimited benefits, we enjoyed incredible dinners at the City Club of Washington at Columbia Square in Washington, D.C., the Tower Club Tysons Corner in Vienna, Virginia, and Town Point Club in Norfolk, Virginia, and lunch at the Capital Club in Richmond, Virginia. All complimentary, each better than the last. There was music and dancing with each dinner. We received $200 off our bill at The Homestead [in Hot Springs, Virginia], after a 20 percent discount for the Signature Gold membership, just for signing up for the program. We also played five spectacular golf courses in Virginia (River Creek Club, Piedmont Club, The Homestead’s Cascades course, Stonehenge Golf & Country Club, and Greenbrier Country Club). As we told everyone at the club when we returned, the Signature Gold Unlimited program is "bizarre."

In our 24 years as ClubCorp members, we have enjoyed the use of more than 80 different golf courses and city clubs. We have never been treated better than we were at the facilities in Virginia.
