MEMBERABILIA: YOUTH MOVEMENT Young executives respond to recent article. FROM THE NEW GENERATION I enjoyed Louis Marroquin’s article very much [“What About Today? Young executive clubs greet new generation of members,” January/February 2007]. It was great to see that the young executive groups are doing so well all over the country. Brian R. Wheeler Member, City Club of Washington Washington, D.C. You made me look like a superstar! Thanks very much. Brian Cook Member, Nashville City Club Nashville, Tennessee GIVING THANKS I just want to say “thank you” to my ClubLine representative (whose name I have forgotten) and the Cardinal Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. I called the ClubLine the day before Thanksgiving to see if my party of four could get into the Cardinal Club on Thanksgiving. Our family plans had changed because of some unforeseen circumstances. We had a beautiful table overlooking the city of Raleigh, the staff at the Cardinal Club treated us like “regulars,” and the food was outstanding. Thanks to all who made our Thanksgiving memorable. Chris Maytnier Barrington, Illinois Member, Owners Club at Hilton Head Hilton Head Island, South Carolina ON THE ROAD In your January/February 2006 issue [“Connoisseur”], you had a picture of the very beautiful new model Aston Martin V8 Vantage, along with their Web site. I was fortunate to be able to order the last of the 25 cars allocated to the dealer, and picked up my car at the end of November. Now, your latest issue featured a fine article by Steve Wilson about the Aston Martin Performance Driving Course in Michigan [“Start Your Engine … and push the pedal to the metal,” January/February 2007]. Although I have not decided to take this course, I did get a private tour, on my birthday in September, of the new Aston Martin factory in Gaydon, England. So, thanks for starting me off on owning such a beautiful car. It is, admittedly, a great enjoyment to drive, but also a real ego trip. S.
