NEW YORK STATE OF MIND

Thank you for a most memorable experience at the ‘21’ Club in New York. We were there to take our grandson to see the city sights, and stopped in on a Friday evening pre-theater. The food and service were both excellent, and we appreciated the opportunity to dine at this New York establishment with Signature Gold benefits. They offered both a prix fixe menu and à la carte choices for the complimentary dinners. Our party tried both, and we were well pleased with our selections. Our grandson enjoyed the decor — the many objects such as planes, trucks, sports memorabilia, etc., suspended from the ceiling. What a great experience! Thank you again, ClubCorp, for continuing to give us great value in our membership.

CAPITAL IDEA
During our recent trip to China, Mrs. Mrva and I had the pleasure to visit the Capital Club in Beijing. What a marvelous experience. Manager Bertrand Petton and his employee partner staff provided us, and our guests, with an outstanding evening. When in Beijing, I recommend to all that you visit the Capital Club.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to the Governors Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, for providing an exceptional birthday party for my mother’s 95th birthday. Nancy White, receptionist, had everything prepared, well in hand, and the staff was extremely accommodating. It provided us all with an outstanding evening to remember.

CHARMED BY CAROLINA
You might say that layers of dust had accumulated on my Signature Gold meals benefits. Membership indeed does have its privileges and I’ve been remiss in not taking advantage of so many wonderful options. But, I had a golden opportunity last fall to rectify this sad state of affairs and I did so with gusto!

During an eight-day trip throughout lovely North Carolina last September, I had the pleasure of visiting and dining at five ClubCorp clubs and affiliates.

The Charlotte City Club, located high above the financial juggernaut that drives this energetic and charming city, was my first dining experience using my Signature Gold benefits. I was warmly welcomed by Ingrid Wheelahan, the membership director, who arranged for me to dine with a member active in the local business community. Service director Dominic Hawkes made me feel right at home and made sure everything was just right.

On to Raleigh and the Capital City Club in the heart of the growing downtown. Club manager Karl Swink’s dining room staff pampered me with an incredible dinner, which included their famous “She Crab Soup” — not to be missed.

At the Cardinal Club, located just across town, membership director Patti Gritton introduced me to all the club amenities and spent time sharing valuable knowledge about the state and the city she’s proud to call home. To help traveling members with Signature Gold benefits (many visit this club from Pinehurst), general manager Kevin Creasy has cleverly printed information about “Your Signature Gold Benefits” on the back of his business card with an invitation to share your experience of his club with him.

On to the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill — home of the famous Tar Heels! The Carolina Club is located right on the grounds of this lovely school among acres of gorgeous trees and stately buildings. While I dined, assistant club manager Michele Leighton and her resourceful staff created an information packet about the area that they presented to me as I bid them a very grateful farewell.

My final Signature Gold meal was hosted by the Piedmont Club in Winston-Salem only a mile or so from the living history museum and town of Old Salem. I couldn’t resist the Pinehurst Players Salad as this regional specialty is a longtime club favorite.

Not only were the lunches and dinners I enjoyed at all the clubs beautifully prepared and presented, it was the warm hospitality I received at each club that will long be remembered. There may be no place like home, but with Signature Gold it sure feels a lot closer.
