Are you ready to pump some iron with your putter? You can with the new Heavy Putter C2-DF, which is roughly double the weight of a conventional putter with an overall weight of 850 grams. Created by innovative putter designer Steve Boccieri, the DF, or Deep Face Series, raises the center of gravity (CG) by combining design elements with a 1⁄4-inch increase in the height of the putter face. By raising the CG, the sweet spot on the face more closely aligns with the golf ball’s equator. With a conventional putter, the golfer must consistently raise the putter approximately 1/2 inch off the ground in order to strike the sweet spot. Retail price: $169

Custom fitting, with special emphasis on a putter’s length, shaft flex, and head weight, is becoming more popular, as are removable and adjustable weighting.
