2013 Bush Center Warrior Open
For the third year in a row, Cpl. Chad Pfeifer took home the Champion’s Cup for lowest gross score at the Bush Center Warrior Open at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas. Hosted by the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the Open honors U.S. service members wounded in post 9/11 combat. For the first time, the event included a pro-am, attracting golf notables such as Justin Leonard and Lee Trevino. The two-day tournament last September opened with a soulful rendition of “America the Beautiful” performed by the Swon Brothers, runners-up from The Voice reality show. During tournament play, President Bush made stops at various holes to cheer on and support the 24 participating wounded warriors.
