OCEANIA CRUISES

Scoop: Now in its 13th year, this upscale midsize cruise line sails to more than 330 ports across the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. Accolades such as "Best Restaurants at Sea" from USA Today and "Best Service" from Condé Nast Traveler readers speak to the company's commitment to fine cuisine and personalized service. The fleet currently includes five midsize ships: The 684-guest Insignia, Nautica, and Regatta, and the 1,250-guest Marina and Riviera. Each ship employs two staff members for every three guests, and itineraries feature multiple overnight calls to give guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the destinations.

What's new: This season, the company has expanded its popular Culinary Discovery Tour Series with epicurean-focused excursions - such as trips to food markets, farms, and cooking schools - in Barcelona, Spain; Marseille, France; and other new destinations. But look to April 2016 for the biggest news when Oceania launches the 684-guest Sirena, with an inaugural Barcelona to Venice voyage. The company also has introduced seven new Grand Voyages, including a 90-night round-trip from Miami making calls in Africa, the Mediterranean, and North America.
