Who he is: Founding member and drummer of the classic rock band Kansas, known for enduring hits such as "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on Wayward Son."

On the road: Last year, the band embarked on the 40th anniversary tour of its landmark album Leftoverture, and due to popular demand has extended the tour through this fall. "That reflects on the music itself. It really has staying power and we're appreciative of that."

Not resting on its laurels:
Kansas released The Prelude Implicit, the band's first album of new music in 16 years, last September. It hit No. 5 on Billboard's rock chart.

How touring has changed: Though Kansas has toured constantly through the years, Ehart says the road is more relaxed these days. "It's like the senior tour of rock 'n' roll. It's more fun and less stressful."

What's next:
In 2018, the band will release a new studio album, then launch a Point of Know Return anniversary tour. "It's a very busy, very vibrant time for us. People still want to come see us."

"When we wrote these songs, we didn't think we'd be playing them 40 years later."
