For the first time since 2009, the 54-hole tournament returned to the courses of Pinehurst Resort - and included play on iconic No. 2 - in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. In late September, 98 teams from more than 80 clubs gathered from across the country, making the event the largest Champions Classic since 1999. For the second year in a row, a team from Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla., won the tournament - this time with a Shamble-Quota format score of 54.5. Second-place Las Colinas Country Club, in Irving, Texas, was just a stroke behind with 53.5, and the team from Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas, took third with a score of 51.3. Members also competed in closest-to-the-pin and other skills contests, and in a blind drawing, Troy Holland of Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas, won the use of a new Acura model of his choice for a year.
